Sonia is very pleased to have work selected for the first exhibition of 2026 at The Gallery Holt. Four Seasons is a celebration of the land and sea, featuring artists from the Royal Society of Marine Artists (RSMA), Wapping Group of Artists (WGA) and the British Plein Air Painters.

The exhibition runs from 21st February to 31st March.

Sonia Dobbs Orr was born in Norfolk. She began her art training at Great Yarmouth Art College with a foundation course in Art & Design.  She then gained a BA Hons. degree, also in Art & Design at Bretton Hall College, Leeds. Specialising in Sculpture.

Sonia works from her garden studio in Newton-by-Castleacre and is currently concentrating on her pastel painting.  She particularly enjoys depicting the local landscape, making the most of the contrasting light effects.

Sonia is also a keen musician and loves to be out in the countryside with her family and her cocker spaniel.

Sonia has a selection of her work available at Chequer House Gallery, King’s Lynn.

Sonia had work selected for the Plumbago exhibition featuring pastels and other dry media at The Gallery Holt in Norfolk.

The exhibition featured selected Members of the Pastel Society alongside leading pastelists from the UK.

Sonia also had 2 works accepted for the Pastel Society Annual Exhibition at The Mall Galleries, London, celebrating the Society’s 125th Anniversary.
